SASHAY THROUGH THE PARTY SEASON

With a tray of mince pies at every party and an even bigger, seemingly endless tray of prosecco being passed around too, indulgence is inevitable at this time of year. But, there is a way to go all out at every gathering, as well as the big day, without rolling (literally) into January.

It’s all about damage control and lining your stomach the right way before it all kicks off. So, a little more attention to detail and you’ll be perfectly prepped for the party season without looking like Paris Hilton on the pavement in Vegas.

CHOOSE YOUR POISON WISELY

Yes, with all alcohol comes calories but you don’t need to sip your daily allowance all in one glass. Champagne comes in at roughly 100 calories a glass, with less sugar than a mixed drink it also contains a lot less yeast than many other alcohols, so you’ll beat the bloat whilst looking oh so suave.

DRINK UP BEFORE YOU GET DOWN

Plonking on your bed as soon as you get in will lead to head spinning and a queasy morning after. Grab a big glass of water before you head to the land of nod, or coconut water if you’ve got some. Be sure to have a green juice in the fridge to help you wake up right the next day too.

GET YOUR BLOOD PUMPING

Even if you’ve danced your glittery little socks off the night before, try and get moving before and after your celebrations too. Some light yoga in your living room or a cruisy morning jog if you can stomach it. All that extra movement will increase the flow of oxygen to your cells to help kick those toxins out of your system.

MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, DON'T FEEL GUILTY

A little of what you love does you good, and if you can get away with it at any time…it’s Christmas for sure. All in all, a bit of mindful eating and a few drops of lemon in hot water in the morning and you’llbe feeling fine and ready to dandy all December long.
