BOOST YOUR BRIDAL IMMUNE SYSTEM

If you’re getting married at this time of year, there’s one thing on your ‘potential disaster’ list that you can draw a line through. Wherever you work, shop and eat you’ll have seen someone with a ruby red nose sore from blowing and streaming itchy eyes as they repeatedly blink saying, ‘I feel fine’. Meanwhile, you disinfect your hands, bag, shoes and baby nephew too. Get your body fighting fit with our immune boosting tips and there’ll be no snotty tissues tucked into your pristine, white dress on your big day.

PRO FRESH AND PRO CLEAN, CLEAN

Get your probiotics in. 70% of our immune system is in our gut, so feed it well. Live yoghurt and fermented foods are your friend. That doesn’t mean you have to cover your sauerkraut in natural yoghurt for breakfast, but try to add it in somewhere.

GET YOUR VITAMINS IN

Vitamin C increases the activity of immune cells, ups the production of antibodies and creates chemicals that can help to stop viruses replicating inside our cells. Opt for citrus fruits and dark leafy veg for a balance of the good stuff.

MOVE YOUR BODY

Head outside for a dog walk, family stroll or even a run. Exercise will help to make your respiratory systems more efficient, so head for the great outdoors and work those lungs.

TAKE SOME SHROOMS

Not necessarily the hallucination inducing kind, but mushrooms contain a natural sugar that is said to improve our immune system. Shiitake style is the strongest, so pop them in your stir-fry with a little extra chili and you’ll be germ free.
